The RVS Proposal

Rochester Visionary Square was the proposal for a green space that was originally submitted to City Council in September of 2016. It was created with the community in mind and that's why we're making it available to view on here. Drawing from this proposal, we would like to see Parcel 5 include a large public square for both passive and active use of all citizens. It has been shown that great public spaces can impact the health, economy, and vibrancy of a city.

Here is some of the previous research including usage, projected development and operating costs (if it was operated independently from the city), a three-year timeline that would have had the square functioning by next summer, economic impact, funding and revenue.

Case Study

This is a case study, or really a series of case studies, on the economic value of public spaces. It was compiled by Slow Road Consulting.
